This project was a renovation of an interesting Edwardian Twin in Pacific Heights.  The project began with a premise of opening the family areas of the home to more light and informal living by updating the home throughout and expanding the oddly small windows on the front façade to gain more light and capture the bay view.  Careful detailing in the kitchen and family room provided the traditional grounding for an open plan to allow informal living within a classic San Franciscan home.  The use of coffers, classic materials and carefully composed spatial connections created an award winning transitional kitchen.  With some excavation and reworking of the terracing in the garden, we were able to visually expand both the master suite and the family room to an inviting and family friendly garden within a challenging site.
